Intern - China - Study

In 2015, we extended the Intern Study to China and started following interns at Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH). 83 (74% participation rate) PUMCH interns  completed a baseline survey before their training started in September 2015 and another 4 follow-up surveys within the intern year. The preliminary data indicates that many of the stress related challenges present in the U.S may also be emerging as challenges in the Chinese system.

Through a U-M/SJTU Joint Institute grant, 400 more interns from 14 affiliated hospitals of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) are enrolled in the study in 2016.

We believe the potential collaboration between us can provide more data and reveal the insight of internship program at both sites.
